Get to Know GeoBlue’s Capabilities for Scholastic Groups
According to a new report by the Department of Homeland Security’s Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), international student enrollment has nearly rebounded to pre-pandemic levels with 1.08 million international students actively holding study visas.
Higher education institutions have noted the following increases this year compared to the 2021-2022 academic year: |

What does this mean? The need for international health insurance for your college and university clients is increasing. International health plans are different from domestic health plans as they include important benefits for international students studying in the U.S. and students, faculty and staff traveling outside the U.S., such as medically necessary evacuation, emergency family reunion assistance and global wellness services.
Don’t let your scholastic groups find international coverage from a competitor. Offer them a total Blue solution with GeoBlue, which equates to a more cost-effective solution for you and higher customer satisfaction for your clients and members. Pretty smart.

New Experience for Individuals and Families Purchasing GeoBlue Short-Term Travel Medical Plans |
|
International travel is on the uptick, and more people now understand the need for international medical insurance. When they consider international medical insurance, we want them to think of GeoBlue as a source for their coverage.
For many people, the first exposure they’ll have to us is our website. We want that initial interaction to be as informative and user-friendly as possible, so we’ve made a few changes.
We’ve redesigned several pages of the individual products website and mobile experience, and we’ve simplified the messaging. It’s all about making it easy for customers to quickly find the information they need so they stay on the site and make a purchase. These changes will be rolled out gradually and we’re testing along the way so that everyone has a positive purchase experience.
How does this improved online experience benefit you? By promoting GeoBlue individual plans, Blue Cross Blue Shield plans get a commission on individual direct sales and an override on individual sales through their broker partners who are appointed to sell GeoBlue. It’s really that easy. Encouraging your members to get the international coverage they need through GeoBlue can pay off!
