| Welcome Florida Blue to the BCBS Global Traveler Companion Family! |

We’re excited to welcome Florida Blue as our latest Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Traveler Companion client and partner plan. Effective January 1, 2023, all Florida Blue employees who are enrolled in Blue Cross Blue Shield domestic coverage through their employer will automatically receive international travel medical coverage when they travel outside the U.S.

What is the typical size of an international opportunity for employer groups?
|
|
|
The employee size of an international opportunity is smaller on the surface. For example, a client with less than 100 covered lives for a U.S. health plan may be considered a “small group” plan, but in the world of international health insurance it’s considered a “large” opportunity. Even though the number of employees for international coverage may be less than a domestic policy, the value of the premium can be substantial.

Does GeoBlue offer group plans for students?

Yes. GeoBlue has a scholastic segment and offers group plans to colleges and universities. We offer outbound plans for U.S. students on study abroad programs and inbound plans for international students studying in the U.S. Learn more about GeoBlue’s scholastic plans.

GeoBlue has supplemental individual policies for U.S. citizens who are traveling outside the U.S. GeoBlue’s individual travel medical policies provide coverage for travelers up to age 95.
