Traveling Smart: Important Safety Resources for You and Your Family
If you’re traveling or living abroad, it’s important to stay safe. GeoBlue® provides helpful destination dashboards and safety alerts, but you can take an extra step. If you are a U.S. citizen or national, be sure to sign up for the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) from the U.S. Department of State.
The STEP program is a free service. It sends you emails with updates from the local U.S. embassy or consulate where you're visiting. If there’s an emergency, they’ll send alerts with instructions on what to do. It’s a great way to receive real-time updates on health, weather, safety and security in your area, complementing the security alerts we send for added peace of mind. Make sure to sign up—it’s a simple way to help protect yourself and your loved ones while you travel the world.
